But Why?
Now that you know what kinds of rubbish you would typically find at Rangiora High School, why is the rubbish there in the first place? The main reason rubbish is found around the school is because a lot of the students at the school don’t understand or care about the environmental impacts that discarding their rubbish causes. This is because students of Rangiora High School are all mainly of the teenage years which usually is a point in your lives when you gain a sense of self and are more of a human being than a drone to your parents or guardian, being isolated from the world. When you enter this age some have come to feel that the world can’t punish you as hard as they used to when you were younger, because you don’t care about the smaller things that don’t matter as much, meaning your actions have less consequences, even if they do but you don’t realise it until you are older and regret your actions as a child. This means that lots don't feel that there are big enough downsides to littering, so they do!
Another reason why rubbish can be found around school is because here in New Zealand we sometimes get high winds, that in some conditions can cause some of the rubbish bins or other rubbish holding containers to be knocked over tipping the contents of rubbish out onto the school. Sometimes people nearby can clean up most of the rubbish, but usually some of the rubbish escapes into the corners of the school.
